Gabriel Obertan move to Newcastle completed

Gabriel Obertan against CSKA Moscow

Manchester United's winger Gabriel Obertan has agreed a five year contract to join the toons. It is said that Obertan had been wanting a transfer since January.

Obertan move to the Tyneside club has been finalised and their coach Alan Pardew believes that Gabriel Obertan's 'best years are ahead of him' after completion of the deal that is believed to be worth £3.25million .

Obertan has signed a five years contract and is the fifth signing of Newcastle. He has passed a medical and is expected to go straight onto the first team.

Alan Pardew added: 'Gabriel is a player I’ve watched for the last couple of seasons since he arrived at Manchester United,'

'He has great pace and excellent technique and he has improved his power in the last 12 months and is ready now to make a real impact in the Premier League.

'I contacted Sir Alex about him early at the start of the summer to see if there was an opportunity to bring him to Newcastle, but it wasn’t until Wayne Routledge joined Swansea that we were able to bring him in.

'His best years are ahead of him which is exactly what we want at this club, and with the backing of our magnificent fans I’m sure he will prove an excellent signing for us.'

Manchester United already have many players who can play on the wings, so Obertan opted for a transfer due to lack of first team action.

Sneijder claims he is for sale if the right offer comes

Wesley Sneijder said the Inter Milan need money, thus he will be sold if the right offer arrives.

He told Voetbal International-“I only know Inter need money and I could leave if the right offer comes in,” he told Voetbal International.

“I have a five-day holiday after Wednesday’s friendly against England and I hope the issues regarding my future can be clarified during that time off.

“I am proud to hear both United and City are interested in me, but so far I have not had contact with either club.

“When it comes to my future, that is all I can say.”

Wesley Sneijder is just like me claims Eric Cantona

Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has said that Sneijder  reminds him of himself and has urged Sir Alex Ferguson to sign Sneijder.

Cantona is at Manchester currently as director of soccer at New York Cosmos for a testimonial in honour of Paul Scholes who came into Man Utd. shortly after unexpected parting away with Eric Cantona. He is returning to the club where he is regarded as a true icon.

Last week Scholes to claimed Sneijder to be his perfect replacement.

Cantona  said: 'He is what Manchester United needs. There's no-one like him right now, He's strong. Sometimes he reminds me of myself,' speaking at the book celebrating New York Cosmos history.

Sneijder hasn't ruled out a possibilty of a transfer whereas, Inter Milan have refused and currently he is involved in Supercopa against AC Milan which is taking place at China.

Eric Cantona says that Manchester City won't suceed to emulate Manchester United

Man Utd. legend Cantona warned noisy neighbors Man City that they would never ever be able to emulate Manchester United as long as they depend solely open the money for succeding.

The Eastland outfit last season qualified for the Champions league and won FA cup following an extravagant spending. FA cup was their first trophy for 35 years.

Roberto Mancini has continued spending huge sums of money even this years and as a result has broken Manchester City's previous transfer record by signing Aguero for £38million.

Nonetheless, Cantona believes that Man City won't be able to match Man Utd. on long term if they only depend upon money for success.

Man Utd. are the best team,’ said Cantona, whose move to Old Trafford in 1992 was the catalyst for a golden era. ‘I don’t know how City work, maybe they work on the academy, but today they want to spend to build a team, to buy players.'

He also said that Man City were successful last year but won't be able to match Manchester United as our club brings through young players rather that just depend upon spending crazy sums of money.

Cantona is at Manchester currently as director of soccer at New York Cosmos for a testimonial in honour of Paul Scholes who came into Man Utd. shortly after unexpected parting away with Eric Cantona.

Recently two expensive buys of Man City have been moaning about dissatisfaction of life at Manchester. This proves that just spending big sums of money doesn't guarantee success and a good feeling among players. Cantona also expressed his feelings that happiness on pitch is more important than off the pitch.

He said: ‘The most important thing for me was to play for the best club in the world with some of the best players in the world’.

‘The greatest time you can have is on the pitch. I loved Manchester and the people. Every time I come back to Manchester I go to Old Trafford. It’s very special for me and it will be even more so this time.’

He was sitting alongside Cosmos star Pele  in order to promote tomorrow nights Scholes testimonial and argued that Ferguson's claim that Scholes was irreplaceable was wrong.

He added: ‘You can replace players, especially at a club like United with a great manager like Sir Alex Ferguson. Every time a player leaves we think the club can’t win any more and they still win things because they are very strong.’

Van Der Sar bids farewell

Last night there was a testimonial for another departed Old Trafford legend Edwin Van Der Sar. Former United team mates including Ferdinand and Rooney were involved in the match and completed his dream team and won 2-1 against Ajax.

And seems like Tevez has asked a further four days leave to spend with family. He had already been ruled out of Community Shield match but now has asked a further four days leave.

The Argentine wanted to leave Manchester City but might have to start his season in England as nobody has been able to match his price tag in excess of £40m and his huge personal demands.

SAF admits Berbatov could be sold to PSG

Berbatov was the joint golden boot winner of last season's EPL along with Carlos Tevez.

Manchester United Striker Berbatov look set to leave for French club Paris Saint-Germain..

The French club have been very active after their take over by a Qatari group.

When asked on a French TV whether Berbatov could leave Man Utd. or not, SAF replied: 'Yes, he might. That’s possible.’

The moneybags are said to be willing to cough a fee of about £20million which will mean a net loss of  about £10 million from the price he was bought from Tottenham three seasons ago.

His possible departure seems to be hugely influenced by the impact Chicharito had in his first season.

Berbatov's sale might mean that United are confident of signing an attacking player, most probably Wesley Sneijder who is supposed to be costing around £30-£35 million.

Manchester United's charity match was organised by  former Marseille goalkeeper Pascal Olmeta fior helping the gravely ill children.

Man Utd. lost the charity match by 8 goals to 2. Chris Smalling, Park Ji-sung, Phil Jones,, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley and Patrice Evra took participation in this charity match.

The retired mid-fielder now a member of SAF's back-room coaching team hailed the Dutch play maker as a top player. " He has been brilliant over the last few years with both Inter and Holland. Every club would want to sign him if available."
The main hurdle to the Dutch's move to Old Trafford seems to be his high wages of around £200,000 which is high above Old Trafford pay structure. But according to The Mirror, his agent is supposed to fly to London to push the transfer through before the end of the transfer window.
Scholes also insisted that United's current batch of young mid-fielders like Tom Cleverley, Paul Pogba, and Ryan Tunnicliffe were good enough to make the United squad

According to mirrorfootball, last night Inter Milan are said to have accepted a deal worth £30 million for their midfield talisman.

Last night Inter Milan chiefs revealed that there had been ad bid for Sneijder from an English Club.

The only stumbling block for completion of the move appears to be the wages.

David Gill has revealed about transfer talks plans with Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United's chief David Gill

Man Utd's Chief David Gill has revealed that he is ready to go into transfer talks with SAF. And it is rumored that a creative midfielder will be the main transfer target for the remaining transfer market.

Gill said: "When we get back from tour, we will be in to the office and we will sit down and assess it with Sir Alex and his coaches." He will meet the the wily manger this morning to plan the club next move in the remainder of the trasnfer window.

He also said: "I don't want to talk about specifics, but it's clear to say that in order to get into the United team you have to be a top-class player and those are the sort of players that we want.
"There are not many around and, if they are around, they may not be available, partly because of the contractual situation for themselves or the views of the club.
"The important point to say is that you never know what will happen. I've been around long enough to know that things can change quite quickly in football."

Sneijder: I Still Have a Chance

The transfer rumour of Wesley Sneijder joining Premier League with Manchester United has been kept alive by Sneijder himself. Recently speaking after 3-0 loss to City he spoke, he still has chances of a move to Old Trafford.

“What will happen? We'll see,” Sneijder said on Sunday. “There is always a chance that something will happen, but we will see."

Sneijder has been called to be Manchester United's top target this summer for a reported fee of approximately 35 million pounds. But United boss Sir Alex has said the deal to be dead throughout this month's tour of the United States.

“There is always speculation," said Sneijder, who would be an ideal replacement for the recently retired Paul Scholes in the team's midfield. "I've said before, I've played for almost 10 years at the highest level and every year there is speculation.”

However, speaking after his team's 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Dublin Super Cup, he said he's still happy there, "As you can see, I'm still here."

"I'm always happy. I'm a happy guy," Sneijder said. "I'm just happy to train every day with my colleagues and to train every day and to play my game for the fans."

David Gill: Nasri and Sneijder Move to Manchester United Dead

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted attempt of signings of Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder and Arsenal attacker Samir Nasri has failed. Both players were  linked heavily with switch to Old Trafford, but according to Gill both deals are now “currently dead”.

However, he refused to rule out more signings as there is still a month left in the transfer window and players could become available during that time.

When asked about Sneijder, Gill told The Guardian: "We didn't progress that one."

"I'm not doing anything on anything at the moment, so they [potential deals] are all currently dead.

"But the important point is that you never know. I've been around in football long enough to know things change quickly."

"Somebody may become available and we can say at that point we are interested."

Speculation over a move for Sneijder has currently out of news after United manager Sir Alex Ferguson dismissed the reports that the playmaker would move to Manchester.

However, it is thought he is still looking for a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes despite spending around €57 million on new signings Phil Jones, David de Gea and Ashley Young.
