Sir Alex: Cleverly And Ando Are Good Replacement For Scholes

Sir Alex Ferguson has recently denied reports that he's considering a new move for Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder.

After the 2-1 win over Barcelona at FedEx Field, Ferguson denied the story.
"Absolute nonsense," said the Red's Manager. "I have never discussed him. There is nothing new."

Ferguson desired to find a replacement for Paul Scholes from his present squad by backing up  Tom Cleverley and Anderson. They both have a bright side and looks that they can do the job he believes.
"It an area we have to find a solution for," he said.

Nani reveals that Chicharito is feeling better again after concussion

According to Nani, Javier Hernandez is feeling better now and he expects Chicharito to be ready for the upcoming Community Shield match against Manchester City. The Community shield is to take place at Wembley.

The Mexican goal poacher concussion after being struck by a ball in head during training ahead of Manchester United's match against the MLS All Stars.

He couldn't face Barcelona due to this very problem. But after the match against Barca in Washington DC Nani was quite confident and told the press:  “I think he’s okay now. I think he needs a couple days to come back to training, but he’s feeling very good.”

Fergie optimistic that De Gea will shine in EPL as no.1 of Manchester United

SAF is confident that he has chosen the right replacement for Van Der Sar in form of De Gea.

The replacement for VDS impressed in his first real test against Barcelona in Washington DC.

The only worry for Manchester United is his slender frame which could make it difficult for him
to adapt to maybe the most physical football league.

De Gea also faces a competition for getting the no.1 spot at Man Utd. from Anders Lindegaard
who stated that he has no intention of 'picking his nose' at the Red Devils.

SAF has had a bad experience in replacing Peter Schmeichel as the keepers he brought to replace
him failed until he got Van Der Sar.

Likewise, he also missed out on signing Peter Cech when he was 20, as he thought he was too
young then to be no.1 at Manchester United. Because of this he thought he couldn't afford missing
   out on De Gea.

'Replacing Edwin van der Sar is very difficult,' said Ferguson. 'He was a great goalkeeper.

'But the benefit we have with De Gea is that he is only 20. The qualities that stood out for us are
his great composure and use of the ball.

'He is quick and agile, which is something we banked on.

'When we assessed him I thought he was the right goalkeeper to take.'

Nani Celebrates Goal

Two months after Champions League final heartbreak, United fans finally got something to celebrate, as the Reds beat the European Champions 2-1 at FedEx Field in Washington DC in front of record 81,807 spectators.

Without their Argentinian playmaker Messi and even Xavi, Dani Alves, Javier Mascherano, Gerard Pique  and Carles Puyol the european champions lacked much of the creativity and movement that tore the Reds apart in May's Champions League final.

Even though the game didn't matter quite much, the game was certainly a fight for prestige in which Reds claimed their prestige back. Despite local media indicating the game as a Wembley rematch and a chance for United for revenge, the players said it wont be thrilling as before but the game was certainly in pace and looked more like a revenge.
In reality, though, this was merely a pre-season run-out for Red, but it will give Red's a huge confidence for Community Shield clash against Manchester City just eight days away.

United, started the game brightly and Rooney should have scored in opening 10 minutes when Nani whipped a dangerous ball across the box from the right. Rooney edged in front of his marker at the near post but shot wide of the post.

Barcelona – short of their stars, including Lionel Messi enjoyed a moment of short dominance after Rooney's miss. One deep cross from the right did force Fabio, on as a substitute for his injured brother (knee) on 17 minutes, to head behind for a corner, however.

With the Catalan side committed forward, the Reds cleared the set-piece and broke quickly down the pitch. Danny Welbeck slipped a pass between two Barcelona defenders for Nani to chase and when the Portuguese wide-man collected the ball he kept his cool to steer home United's opener via the gap between Victor Valdes' legs.

It was classic counter-attacking football from the Reds, the sort of which United fans saw far too infrequently in the last two Champions League finals. Instead, those games will always be remembered for Barcelona's staggering possession play.

There was less of the possesion keeping on display from Catalans, although admittedly they  were missing Xavi and Messi. The less savoury side to Barcelona's game remained, though. Ashley Young and Jonny Evans were caught by wild tackles in the first half, while Sergio Busquets and David Villa both made the most of tame challenges.

Sir Alex made three changes at the break (an interval that featured basketball superstar Kobe Bryant taking penalties on the pitch) but it was Nani, United's liveliest player in the first 45 minutes, who continued to pose problems for the Barcelona defence whenever the Reds pushed forward.
At the other end, David De Gea's first save came just after the restart when he smothered Pedro's angled shot. Otherwise, the former Atletico Madrid stopper had precious little to do until the 70th minute when Thiago rifled a swerving shot into the top corner from 20 yards. There was no stopping that thunderbolt and the goal gave Barca a noticeable shot of confidence.

Six minutes later, though, United were back in front when Cleverley intercepted a stray pass and fed Michael Owen through the middle. The former Real Madrid forward – Barcelona fans won't have forgotten that fact – is usually lethal in one-on-one situations, and he made no mistake here, dinking the ball over Valdes to restore the Reds' lead.

United's win doesn't erase the memories of May's Champions League final or even strike a significant psychological blow in the battle for European football supremacy. It did, however, ensure Sir Alex's men remained undefeated in all five US Tour fixtures (scoring 20, conceding three), and provide a high-intensity finish to pre-season preparations. The result will certainly boost up confidence for the coming season as they return home with 5 out of 5 wins from the tour.

Next up: the Community Shield. Bring on the Blues!

United: De Gea; Rafael (Fabio 17), Vidic (Jones 76), Evans, Evra (Smalling 46); Nani, Cleverley, Anderson (Giggs 46), Young (Obertan 62); Rooney (Owen 46), Welbeck (76)
Subs not used: Amos, Berbatov, Ferdinand, Carrick, Park, Macheda

Nani and Owen avenge CL final loss

Manchester United have avenged their Wembley defeat with a 2-1 victory over their arch-rivals Barcelona at Fed-ex field, Washington. This gave United fans something to cheer about after their teams demolition in the Champions League final.
Classic counter attacking play proved to be the base for the win of United. With Barca committed forward for most of the game and dominating possession United replied with classic counter attacks. Nani proved to be the game maker for United and gave them a lead when he beat the offside trap off a wonderful Welbeck pass and slid it in between the legs of Victor Valdes.
The second half started same as the first one but in the 70th minute, the new Barcelona sensation Thiago blasted a thunderous shot past De Gea to give his side an equaliser. However United got the lead back on the 76th minuted when Cleverley intercepted a stray pass and slid it to Owen. Owen made no mistake and United went up 2-1.
This win doesn't make a high importance and doesn't erase the memories of the CL final defeat but made sure United kept their 100% win record on their tour of the States scoring 20 goals while conceding only 3.
Next game: Community Shield match against Manchester City. Come on " The Red Devils"

United: De Gea; Rafael (Fabio 17), Vidic (Jones 76), Evans, Evra (Smalling 46); Nani, Cleverley, Anderson (Giggs 46), Young (Obertan 62); Rooney (Owen 46), Welbeck (76)

David Gill: Nasri and Sneijder Move to Manchester United Dead

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted attempt of signings of Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder and Arsenal attacker Samir Nasri has failed. Both players were  linked heavily with switch to Old Trafford, but according to Gill both deals are now “currently dead”.

However, he refused to rule out more signings as there is still a month left in the transfer window and players could become available during that time.

When asked about Sneijder, Gill told The Guardian: "We didn't progress that one."

"I'm not doing anything on anything at the moment, so they [potential deals] are all currently dead.

"But the important point is that you never know. I've been around in football long enough to know things change quickly."

"Somebody may become available and we can say at that point we are interested."

Speculation over a move for Sneijder has currently out of news after United manager Sir Alex Ferguson dismissed the reports that the playmaker would move to Manchester.

However, it is thought he is still looking for a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes despite spending around €57 million on new signings Phil Jones, David de Gea and Ashley Young.

Ever wondered how Manchester United train??

Here is a video from Nike that shows Manchester United training.

Manchester United Vs Barcelona: Head To Head

Form guide
Manchester United have a 100 percent record on the pre-season tour with numerous goals in their favour. The 4-0 battering of MLS All-Stars, 3-1 of Chicago Fire, 7-0 of Seattle Sounders and 4-1 of New England Revolutions means all the forwards who have played out in the US have been successful to find the net at least once.
Barcelona have already enjoyed much success in pre-season, getting Internacional on penalties before defeating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the Audi Cup. The new sensation Thiago Alcantara scored both the goals.

Ins and outs
Manchester United: Javier Hernandez is ruled out after suffering concussion but wouldn't have played in any case.  Sir Alex has promised he'll give lengthy run-outs to most of his stars ahead of the Community Shield on Sunday week. The boss has difficulties in choosing a goalie among David De Gea and Anders Lindegaard, who have been excellent in the tour.

Barcelona: Barcelona's Copa America players are missing including Lionel Messi, Javier Mascherano and Dani Alves amongst others as well as new signing Alexis Sanchez. Xavi is back in training after an injury lay-off and should be involved.

Last meeting
The last time met was not a long time ago. They met at Wembley Stadium, 28 May 2011, in the Champions League final. A masterful performance from the Spanish Giants got them to a comfortable 3-1 victory, goals from Pedro, Messi and David Villa. Wayne Rooney's superb equaliser before half-time was, ultimately, in vain.

Top man
Manchester United: Despite an poor start of the last season, Wayne Rooney came back with a bang after the mid season netting 17 times. Being the most succesful player for the Reds in the pre-season, Wayne has started the season too well already. He looks calm and confident and will be the key man for Manchester United.

Barcelona: For all of Messi's magic, it's arguable that Xavi was man of the match at Wembley. The midfielder ran the show with able support from Andres Iniesta and, of course, Messi who won't feature on coming game. Thus for an upcoming game Xavi will be the key man for Barcelona.

Valencia has agreed a new long term deal at Manchester United

The Ecuadorian winger has put pen to paper to a new long term deal at United, and new contracts for Berbatov and Chicharito are anticipated to be offered.

Man Utd.'s chief executive David Gill who is win Manchester United squad in the US tour said that a deal with Valencia is sorted out and that he expected the deal to be announced next week after the team returns from USA.

The deal is said to be of 4 years.

Similarly, a deal for Chicharito and Dimitar Berbatov is said to be on the cards.

David Gill said: "Everyone has been talking about Berbatov from the outside, saying he wants to leave or that we want want him to leave, but we don't want him to go.

"We want him to stay. He scored over 20 goals last season, so there is no desire on our behalf to see him go. From our perspective he has, effectively, two years to go.

"We have until the end of the season [to extend his contract], so we can assess how it goes, talk to him, see how he performs and see what happens.

"I've not had one conversation with Dimitar [about his future]. There has been no correspondence in that respect.

"The decision Alex took [leaving Berbatov out of the Champions League final] was a decision he took for that particular game.

"It wasn't a decision taken with a view that we want Dimitar to go, because we don't."

David Gill also said that Chicharito's deal would be negotiated during autumn when he has no transfer headaches.

Rooney: Hernandez Helped Me To Progress

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has hailed his Mexican team mate Javier Hernandez for helping him progress over the past 12 months. The Englishmen also believes that they can go on and score goals together upcoming years.

The England international started 2010/11 season  following a poor performance at the World Cup in South Africa. And his poor performance continued with United, as Rooney scored just three times in United's opening 17 games of the campaign.

However, Rooney  ended the season with 17 goals to his name for club and country, thanks to the emergence of Mexican wonder kid Hernandez.

'Chicharito' arrived at Old Trafford having impressed for his country at the World Cup, and took the Premier League by storm, the Mexican settled quick in front of goal netting 20 times in all competitions.
And Rooney, speaking for media revealed that he would not have finished last season so strongly - netting 10 times in United's final 18 games - had it not been for 'Little Pea'.

"Before he came I'd only seen clips of him, and then I saw him at the World Cup. Then when he turned up, we were excited because you could see what kind of player he is," he says.

"I don't think any of us expected him to do what he did. To come in and cement your place in the team at such a young age is an incredible achievement, and I think he's helped me progress too. I can play in a deeper role and get more of the ball when he's there for defenders to worry about.

"I always want more of the ball and that position helps me see more of it. We suit each other. It could be a partnership for years."

Winning the Premier League last season saw United capture a record 19th league crown, finally usurping rivals Liverpool's haul of 18 - the last of which they lifted in 1990.

Manchester United 2011/12 Home Kit

Manchester United's 2011/12 home kit designed by Nike is very eco friendly. It is made up of entirely recycled components i.e recycled polyester. This technology is really inspirational and a result of hard work from Nike.

This kit certainly plays it's part in making sure that like Manchester United's team it stands among other kits as the best. This kit also draws inspiration from previous Man Utd kits. The only thing about this kit that I don't like is the design. Nike should have worked hard on in. Nonetheless, as I love Manchester United I certainly love the kit associated with our team no matter how good or bad the design is.

Hernandez to be given plenty of time to recover

Sir Alex Ferguson has said he won't be rushing Hernandez and that the 23 year old Mexican will be given plenty of time to recover. Hernandez was rushed to hospital after he suffered concussion following then incident in which he was "hit on the top of the head with the ball". United have already revealed that Hernandez's MRI scan report are out and he hopefully would return in 3 weeks.
Still Ferguson has clearly told that he won't be hurrying to play the forward who scored 10 goals in his debut season. Ferguson has also shrugged off the claims made by the player's former club about Hernandez having neurological problems in the past.

United Old Boy Pique Terms Ferguson as " UNBELIEVABLE"

Gerard Pique admits Ferguson's achievement at his old club United is simply "UNBELIEVABLE" as Ferguson readies to celebrate an incredible 25 years as OLD TRAFFORD chief in November this year.
In these 25 years Ferguson has taken a club way languishing in the shadows of Liverpool to the top of English football. Ferguson and United finally got Liverpool off their perch last season and will be the favorites to lift the trophy for the 20th time this year.
Pique spent 4 seasons in United having been brought from Barcelona as a 17 year teen making 20 appearances for the team before returning to the Catalans. He has since then enjoyed all kind of successes in Barcelona which also includes a world cup triumph and two Champions League final win over his former club.
Pique : " I have never seen anything like this in Spain. It's just UNBELIEVABLE."
" I was with him and i know why he is still there."
" He is always there for his players whether on or off the field"
" Every Manchester fan would be happy if he stays there because he has won almost everything with them and I wish that too."

Manchester United visit White House

Manchester United were invited to White House by the American Government.

Barcelona also on US tour were not invited to the President's residence. White House is the resident of one of the most powerful person in the world. Obama himself couldn't meet Man Utd. players and other staffs due to hectic schedule. He had a lot of meetings scheduled for the day and the players were disappointed that they couldn't meet up with him but where happy nonetheless to visit such an iconic place.

White House is located in Washington DC. This is the final stop of Manchester United's US tour. Here the team will face Barcelona and will be keen to take a revenge of the Champions League final defeat.

Beckham: I Owe Sir Alex A Lot

LA Galaxy star David Beckham admitted playing against his former club Manchester United was difficult.

Beckham spent 10 years at Old Trafford for Manchester United and had important role on Sir Alex Ferguson's 1999 Champions League winning squad, before leaving England to play for Real Madrid, AC Milan and now Los Angeles.

Beckham played for United's yesterdays opponent, US side MLS All Stars which got beaten 4-0 by United in a friendly played at famous Redbull Arena, it the first time he has played against his former side.

"It's always going to be emotional coming up against Manchester United," Beckham said. "It's always difficult as well."

"So obviously to play against Manchester United still with Sir Alex Ferguson as manager, still with some of the players that I played with and the fans I played in front of for many years - it's emotional."

Beckham also was specially thankful for Sir Alex, the man who was influential over his early years of his career.

"I had many years and many successful years playing for Manchester United and playing under Sir Alex Ferguson," he said.

"I wouldn't be in the position I am today if it wasn't for him because he gave me a chance when I was 16, 17-years-old and he had the faith to give youngsters a chance so I owe him a lot."

"He was a father figure to me for many years."

MLS ALL STARS - 0 UNITED - 4

Manchester United brought alive a capacity 26,716 crowd in the famous Red Bull Arena with a complete display of beautiful football. Goals from Anderson, Park, Berbatov and Welbeck handed UNITED a victory over the side boasting two of the Premier League modern day legends Beckham and Henry.

The match was supposed to be the first game for Javier Hernandez who now has become a favorite among the Americans. Hernandez didn't play the game due to concussion suffered during training session. The little pea now boasts of fans equal to Beckham or Henry and had the most number of fans with his name printed in their jersey.

Although the final score seemed to be a little one-sided, the contest was tight. Both the sides played attacking football but credit to United goalie Anders Lindegaard and neat finishing from the strikers that the final score seemed one-sided.

The highlight of the game: Park Ji-Sung's brilliant individual goal and Berbatov's cool finish of a Wayne Rooney chip.

With the new signings doing a great job in the field, future seems bright for United...

United: Lindegaard (Amos 46); Jones, Ferdinand (Smalling 61), Vidic (Diouf 73), Evra; Park (Nani 61), Carrick (Cleverley 61), Anderson (Fabio 73), Young (Welbeck 61); Rooney (Macheda 61), Berbatov (Owen 61

Chicharito ruled out of Community Shield Match vs Man City

Chicharito has been declared unfit to face Man City in the upcoming Community Shield match and could miss action upto weeks.

Chicharito who joined Man Utd in the US tour for facing the MLS All-Stars was hit by a stray ball during training due to which he suffered concussion. Javier Hernandez has become a sensation in America and the fans will be utterly disappointed that they can't see their idol in action.

He will also miss the pre season match against Barcelona.

SAF also stated that he was unlikely to see much first team either ways as he had a long season in which he played EPL, World Cup, Champions League, Oro Cup etc.

We wish he gets well soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
