Edwin van der Sar bowed out of football on a high during an emotional testimonial night in Amsterdam.
Ajax staged a fitting tribute to the great goal keeper while the evening witnessed United stalwarts - Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Micheal Carrick, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney turn out for Edwin's Dream Team.
The star-studded side also featured Gary Neville and took the lead at the start of the second half when former Everton striker Louis Saha scored following a Rio Ferdinand through pass. VDS was beaten by a thunderous Rodney Sneijder shot that came off the post and Derk Boerrigter scored off the rebound.
Edgar Davids replaced Carrick in the first half as the game witnessed a number of substitutions. Despite the slow pace of the game, Rooney and Giggs got involved in a build up to the winning goal and Dennis Bergkamp scored with a neat finish.
United's U-13 drew 2-2 with Ajax counter-parts with two goals from Callum Gribbin. Edwin's son Joe played for United U-13. VDS then kept a clean-sheet as Ajax '95 beat Holland '98 through a Marc Overmars strike.
Edwin's Dream Team: Van der Sar; Neville, van Bronckhorst, Ferdinand, Vidic; Carrick, Giggs, Zenden, Kuyt; Rooney, Saha
